How to Set Up Missed Call Text Back in 10 Minutes

You do not need a developer or a new phone system to text back missed calls. Here is the whole process, with realistic timings.

Step 1: Create your account (about 2 minutes)

Start a free trial and enter your name, email, mobile number, and business name.

Step 2: Choose a plan (about 1 minute)

Pick the plan that fits your call volume. Starter includes 150 SMS per month, Growth 300, and Pro 500 with a dedicated number. See pricing.

Step 3: Connect your number (about 1 minute)

Open Settings and connect your TextBack number. On Starter and Growth this is the shared number; Pro provisions a dedicated one.

Step 4: Forward unanswered calls (about 3 minutes)

Set up conditional call forwarding with your phone carrier so calls you do not answer go to your TextBack number. Codes vary by carrier; our call forwarding guide covers the common ones.

Step 5: Write your message (about 2 minutes)

Use a template from our message examples, swap in your business name, and choose the delay before the text is sent.

Step 6: Test it

Call your business number from another phone, let it go unanswered, and confirm the text arrives. Reply to make sure the response shows up in your inbox.
