How to forward unanswered calls to your text-back number: conditional call forwarding codes, carrier tips, and how to test.

Missed call text back works by sending calls you do not answer to a number that can text the caller. This is called conditional call forwarding.
The three conditions
- No answer: the call rings and nobody picks up.
- Busy: your line is engaged.
- Unreachable: your phone is off or out of coverage.
Common GSM codes (many AT&T, T-Mobile, and international carriers)
- No answer: dial **61*[number]# and press call.
- Busy: dial **67*[number]# and press call.
- Unreachable: dial **62*[number]# and press call.
- To cancel all forwarding: dial ##002# and press call.
Verizon
Verizon commonly uses *71 followed by the number to forward unanswered calls, and *73 to cancel. Confirm with Verizon for your plan.
VoIP and office phone systems
Most business phone systems have a "no answer" or "failover" forwarding setting in their admin panel. Set it to your TextBack number.
Test it
- Call your business number from another phone.
- Let it ring until it forwards.
- Confirm the text arrives within your chosen delay.
- Reply and check your TextBack inbox.
