The best missed call text is short, warm, and asks one clear question. Here are examples you can adapt. Replace anything in [brackets].
General
- "Hi! This is [Business]. Sorry we missed your call. How can we help? Reply here and we will get right back to you."
- "Sorry we missed your call! This is [Business]. What is the best time for us to call you back today?"
Busy on a job
- "Hi, [Business] here. We are on a job and could not pick up. What do you need help with? Reply and we will get back to you today."
After hours
- "Thanks for calling [Business]! We are closed right now. Reply with what you need and we will respond when we open at [time]."
Emergencies
- "Hi, [Business]. Sorry we missed you! Is this an emergency? Reply YES and we will prioritise your call."
Appointments
- "Hi, [Business] here. We missed your call. Reply with the service you want and a day and time that suits you, and we will confirm."
What makes these work
- They name the business.
- They ask exactly one question.
- They set an expectation for when the customer will hear back.
- They stay short. Messages over 160 characters can be split into multiple SMS segments.
